Another workshop…More opportunies

I’ve just finished another MKFacilitations workshop as a member of the TEAM and I’ve got to say what a huge rush! This workshop was called “LIVING IN GRATITUDE AND ABUNDANCE”. Part of abundance requires us to be thankful for the the abundance we currently have. In other words if we are not thankful and show gratitude to God, The Universe, Otherness (insert your name for the higher power here) then we will not be given any more. We can ask for more and more and more, but until we are able to recognize what we have and be truly thankful for it we will not be given more.

An example of this is a story that I first heard at a ‘Millionaire Mind Workshop’. You are a parent and you take your child into the ice cream shop. You buy them a single scoop of ice cream and they are grateful for it, but on the way out of the shop the ball of ice cream falls off the cone. So you go back in to the shop, however this time the child spots the triple scooper and asks (begs) for it. As a responsible parent do you buy the child this triple scooper. The answer is no and the reason is simple. If your child can’t hand a single scoop then why would you set them up to fail. The universe works the same way. If you can’t handle how good you have it now it won’t set you up to fail.

So for me part of my journey this weekend was to recognize in my life the abundance that I had missed. From my previous 2 entries you may have noticed that I was feeling distracted from my purpose, then realized (with help) that I had been on target, but wondered why I did not recognize what I had been doing. Part of my history is that I was taught that only work has value and if I don’t have to work for ‘it’ then the ‘it’ has no value.

In the passed year I have become more able to see all of the abundance I have, but when I enumerate my abundance it is almost always based on possessions and things that I have worked for and or purchased as a result of work. I always recognize my house, my hot tub, my car, my wealth as the abundance I have, but have failed to see that there is far more.

So what have I found after this weekend. Well part of MKFacilitations mandate is that we can do anything “With Ease and Grace” and it does NOT have to be a struggle.

So in the workshop this weekend, despite the fact that it might not be the ‘Work’ that I’m used to having to do, that which I have received has a value that is priceless. The time spend nurturing my marriage, while it may not feel like work, has enormous value.

For all of this abundance (My marriage, my spouse who is my foundation and support, my journey, my friends and other things which are too numerous to mention), which I used to fail to recognize due to the lack of work and therefore I was not able to be grateful, I am now profoundly grateful and thank all of those who help me realize what I have and how far I’ve come.

In the words of Douglas Adams, “…Thanks for all the fish.”

Walk In Peace,
